Once again, there is some food from the gameplay section of Overwatch. This time, they showcase one of the tanks: Reinhardt, a hard-hitting hammer wielder who causes quite a devastation with his massive body.
The German Soldier
Because Blizzard really caters to every common stereotype with their character concepts and wants to appeal to a broad audience of players, the German character is of course called: Reinhardt Wilhelm. As if that’s not enough, he comes from the city with the melodic name Stuttgart. The ex-soldier stands for knightly virtues and tries to make the world a better place, which is why he travels through Europe helping people even after his service. We can look forward to funny accents from our English-speaking players who will poke fun at this.
Hammer and Shield
Our hero uses the “Rocket Hammer” as a weapon, a devastating melee weapon that can deal damage in a wide arc – as long as he makes it to the enemy safely.
- The most well-known ability is his Shield, which he directs in a cone shape forward. It can absorb a whopping 2,000 damage points, thus protecting his team from damage for a long time.
- When Reinhardt switches from defense to attack, he uses “Charge” to rush forward and carry all enemies with him – if he rams into a wall, the impacted foes take significant damage.
- Every 7 seconds, our tank can perform a ranged attack, the “Fire Strike“, a burning projectile that pierces targets and deals medium damage.
- His ultimate ability “Earthshatter” creates a large area effect around him that deals damage and knocks down all affected enemies, leaving them motionless for a few seconds: The perfect time to simply move from one enemy to the next and send them to respawn in turn.
