Fans of the background story of Overwatch will soon get plenty of food for thought. We have the details.

Already at BlizzCon two years ago, fans expressed concerns that Overwatch would be a great game, but without exciting lore, many players might never engage with it. Blizzard heard these concerns and, a year later, at BlizzCon 2015, announced that it would tell the background story of the hero shooter in different ways. It seems that they are now serious about this.
This March, they plan to start releasing “Shorts”: short cinematics that highlight the background story of individual characters. At first glance, these videos will match the quality of the intro cinematics – so it will be exciting to see.
Comic lovers will also get their money’s worth – oh, nonsense. It’s free! In total, Blizzard plans to release 6 short, digital comics by the launch of the game on May 24, which will shed light on the past of the criminals Roadhog and Junkrat, but also take a closer look at the German knight Reinhardt. The first comic is set to be released in April and reveals details about the story of McCree.
In conclusion, there is also a larger work, a complete “Graphic Novel” that deals with the Omnic Crisis. The Omnic Crisis was the uprising of the robots, which hardly any nation could resist and ultimately led to the founding of Overwatch. Logically, this will address the stories of the founding members of Overwatch, such as heroes like Soldier: 76, Torbjörn, Reaper, and Reinhardt. However, the cost of this work and when exactly it will be released is still unknown.
Where did Winston get his glasses? Why are Genji and Hanzo at war with each other? Why does Reinhardt like Hasslehoff’s music? (Okay, dumb question) And most importantly for the numerous fanfictions: What happened between Widowmaker and Tracer?
