After the first hints about the new hero from Overwatch, there is now further information that may lead to the new hero. Some players have found a room that could connect the new hero with the new map Paris.
What has been found? On the new assault map Paris in Overwatch, there is a secret room that players cannot actually enter. The room is sealed with a wooden door that has a peephole.
Above the door, there is a graffiti indicating broken stones from the wall and three glowing blue dots. These look like the sensors of an Omnic. Above it is written: “nous vous surveillons”, French for “we are monitoring you.” Next to it, there is a camera attached.
The room is protected by invisible walls, so players could not reach it even through glitches outside the map.
This is what’s in the room: The player Zezombye managed to enter the room. For this, he used Doomfist’s meteor strike ultimate, which sends Doomfist into the air and outside the map and then brings him back down.
Inside the room itself, there is even something to see. A strange device is standing there, of which no one yet knows exactly what it is supposed to do. The community on reddit is already speculating. However, many fans see the object merely as a remnant:
Looks like an intercom/bell, like those seen on other doors in the city. Only this one is in the wall because they chose not to place one there. They just didn’t remove it properly (out of laziness or to bring it back later).
Others see the device as a possible hint towards the “Archives” event, which already featured a special version of Rialto in 2018.
What does this have to do with the new hero? There is now also a speculation that the door may have something to do with the new hero “Baptiste” that Overwatch recently teased.
Accordingly, a change to the map is possible, similar to the disappearance of Doomfist from Numbani when Doomfist appeared or the change of the payload in Route 66 right before Ashe appeared.
