Blizzard shines the spotlight on the shooter Overwatch featuring Efi Oladele, an 11-year-old inventor. Could she be the new hero, the “New Hero”?
The search is on for the twenty-fourth hero for Overwatch. After it seemed clear for a long time: “It’s going to be Doomfist”, it was recently stated “It won’t be who you all think it will be.”
Instead, Blizzard presents us today with an interview featuring the 11-year-old prodigy “Efi Oladele” in a fictional news article from Atlas News – Spotlight on Numbani.
Or could the robot that Efi is building become the new hero?
Despite her young age, Efi has already made a name for herself as a specialist in robotics and artificial intelligence. She received the prestigious “Superbrain Scholarship.”
Efi has been fascinated by robots and artificial intelligence ever since her parents gifted her the first robot kit. She dreams of creating things that can make our lives better and protect us – like the new OR15s. She already has an idea for the money tied to the scholarship … but Efi won’t reveal exactly what it is.

Will Efi be the New Hero in Overwatch?
Currently, it is unclear whether Blizzard really plans to make Efi or perhaps a robot she built the new hero. It could also be the “OR15s”, which are indirectly introduced in the interview. Speculation is open.
The last hero, Sombra, was introduced by Blizzard through an endless series of teasers and games. In retrospect, everyone felt it was too much and it got on the fans’ nerves. Therefore, Blizzard has already announced that they will keep the introduction of a new hero shorter and won’t tease it endlessly.
In any case, exciting times are ahead in Overwatch. Will Efi be the new hero? What do you think?
