How the player Evermore reached a skill rating of 5000 in Overwatch is now revealed by statistics and videos.
Recently, we reported that player EVERMORE has reached the current skill rating maximum in Overwatch. With a score of 5000 points, there is no way to climb higher in the ranking. A video released by him now reveals how he did it. As previously reported, his main character was Roadhog, rightly called the “King of Duels.” However, Overwatch rarely consists of duels – unless you create them yourself.
When you look at Evermore’s statistics, you quickly notice that he has quite a poor objective time – he rarely fights at the payload or on the control point.
EVERMORE primarily plays Roadhog as a flanker, lurking near spawn areas to pick off key characters (like Lúcio or Zarya) one by one, thus easing the work for the rest of his team.
Some might think that this is purely about an “ego tour” to rack up gold medals and a good score for accuracy, but that is not true. His impressive win rate of 89% clearly shows that his team also benefits from these actions.
Cortyn says: Playing Roadhog as a flanker often seems more intuitive than perceiving him as a tank – since he has neither a shield nor other defensive abilities. Therefore, it is little surprising that Roadhog can often be even more devastating as a flanker than a Tracer or a Genji. Especially in the hands of a top player like EVERMORE, Roadhog becomes a pure killing machine. Hats off for this achievement, as the opponents he faces are anything but “noobs” and “casuals.”
