Those who like artworks and comics and are also a fan of Overwatch should hold on to their wallets. Because it could get expensive.
The comics of Overwatch are basically free. Anyone who wants can view the backstory of the heroes and villains from Blizzard’s shooter universe online. However, those who prefer to have “something in hand” and enjoy comics in a more traditional manner may soon strike on Amazon. There you can find the “Overwatch Anthology” with the first 12 comics as a hardcover for $20 starting October 10 – at least in the American market. The comics tell the backstories of many characters and reveal, for example, how Bastion joined the team, where Tracer got her catchphrase from, and how Reinhardt fought against dragons – or at least a group that calls itself that.
Soon after, on October 24, a comprehensive art book “The Art of Overwatch” will be released, featuring numerous artworks from the game world that have never been shown before. The price here, however, is a hefty $50. Especially loyal fans even opt for the limited collector’s edition with a large slipcase and additional posters for a whopping $100.
German versions of both works are not yet available on Amazon, so it is still uncertain whether localized variants of the two books will be released.
