Those who cheat in online games will eventually face the consequences. A Korean Overwatch player, who was among the top 200 players on the Korean leaderboard, found this out the hard way. He streamed live on the internet while using an aimbot in Overwatch and quickly faced Blizzard’s penalty, having his account banned from the game.
Cheaters against the wall!
Years ago, Jan Hegenberg warned us that cheaters should be “thrown out.” Even in the early versions of “Counter Strike,” there were so-called “aimbots” that ruined the fun of the game for other players. An aimbot takes over aiming for the player and automatically targets enemies without the need to move the mouse. It’s incomprehensible why someone would want to stream such obvious cheating live on the internet. In the video, you can see how the cheat works, jumping the crosshairs from one target to the next – almost without any delay.

Those who have watched the whole video might wonder how someone can still miss shots with Widowmaker despite having an aimbot. Could it be that the player didn’t want to cheat “obviously”? What the thoughts behind that were will probably remain a mystery. However, it is always satisfying to see a cheater get their just punishment.
Blizzard has already stated that they show no mercy to cheaters in Overwatch and do not tolerate this behavior.
