The latest hero of Overwatch is live and can now be played in the live version. We reveal what you need to know.
After Blizzard started teasing the next hero for Overwatch a few weeks ago, it didn’t take long for Brigitte to appear on the game’s PTR. The testing phase for the new support character has been over for a few days, and the developers have put the finishing touches on her.
In terms of story, Brigitte is the daughter of Torbjörn, although she was given her name by Reinhardt. She eagerly follows in his footsteps, traveling with him and keeping his armor up to date.
Brigitte’s abilities – healing, armor, and solid damage
Let’s take another look at Brigitte’s abilities and her equipment:
- Flail: Brigitte’s melee weapon has a longer range, allowing her to hit multiple enemies with a single strike. If she hits an enemy, nearby allies are automatically healed.
- Repair Pack: Brigitte throws a repair pack that heals allies. Healing that exceeds an ally’s maximum health instead grants armor.
- Flail Charge: Brigitte uses her flail as a ranged weapon and throws it at enemies, dealing damage and knocking them back.
- Barrier Shield: Brigitte activates a forward-facing energy barrier that absorbs a limited amount of damage.
- Shield Bash: When her Barrier Shield is active, Brigitte can charge forward and stun enemies.
- Rally: Brigitte moves faster and grants all nearby allies temporary armor that lasts until consumed by damage.
As is customary for a new patch, there are again long queues this time. If you’re planning to play today, you should allocate a bit more time or try to enter the game as soon as possible.
What do you think of Brigitte and how do you like her? Is she a cool character and did Overwatch need her?
