In addition to the announcements for Hearthstone, WoW, Starcraft, and Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard has added a major announcement along with a big trailer: Overwatch!
Overwatch is the new game from Blizzard and for the first time, the developers are trying their hand at an online shooter – a purely team-based game with MOBA elements, where battles will take place in a 6vs6 format. There will be different game modes, such as capturing control points or payload delivery. The graphics are in a comic style and strongly resemble a mix of Borderlands, Team Fortress, and WildStar.
The first gameplay trailer of the sci-fi multiplayer shooter looked absolutely outstanding, and I make no secret that I am once again hyped to the core. The characters have completely convinced me already, and it looks like a lot of fun – I am looking forward to blasting friends with my friends.
