The new patch for Overwatch is causing some issues. Some players can’t even start Overwatch.
When the patch for Overwatch went live yesterday, there was great excitement. Finally, players could play as their new hero Ashe and unleash devastation on the battlefields of the game world with her and B.O.B. But the joy was quickly dampened – as some players are unable to play Overwatch. A bug is to blame for this.
What kind of bug is it? To call it “a bug” would be an understatement, as players report multiple errors at once. Commonly, it occurs that:
- The main menu does not load at all and players remain stuck on the login screen.
- The hero gallery does not work or does not display Ashe.
- Players can join games, but the loading process never completes. After two minutes, they get kicked for inactivity.
The errors are not only occurring on PC but also in the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Overwatch, as this YouTuber’s video proves:
How is the error fixed? Some players report that the error disappears after a complete reinstall of Overwatch – both on PC and consoles. But not all players find this helpful. Another patch from Blizzard will likely be needed.
Fans are disappointed: Many fans are showing anger or outright rage, as some of the bugs were already discovered and reported on the PTR. They believe that Blizzard should listen more carefully and examine the forums attentively before releasing such a patch. After all, due to these bugs, some players now have received penalties for the ranked mode (as they are considered “inactive”) or have lost recognition levels.
For a complete, permanent fix, another patch from Blizzard will likely be needed to resolve the errors. This is supposedly already in the works and is expected to be released within the next hours or days.
Allegedly, Overwatch also has some other problems – namely with drugs.
