What would the intro of an Overwatch anime look like? A fan video answers this question.
Overwatch as a Cheerful Action Series
Overwatch has only been on the market for a few weeks, but long before the actual release of Blizzard’s shooter, enthusiastic, creative fans created their works related to the game. Since the closed beta, this has also taken on questionable forms.
However, in the family-friendly space of these works, there are some particularly well-made videos. The YouTuber inkling inkling has wondered what an anime set in the Overwatch universe would look like. Since the characteristic element of most Japanese animated series is usually the intro (or “opening”), that is exactly what was created.
For the opening, only scenes and footage from the various promotional films of Overwatch were used, such as character introductions or cinematics. Once everything was synchronized with the soundtrack, it was complemented with Japanese characters and the obligatory subtitles for sing-alongs. Now you have an opening for the Overwatch anime.
Cortyn says: Although the execution is basically quite simple, inkling inkling has wonderfully managed to synchronize the images with the music piece. If you like anime, you will immediately remember many series whose opening was quite similarly structured. At least I would watch an Overwatch anime right away. But I’m not a benchmark, as I would watch any anime. How did you like the video?
P.S: Ha! I managed to sneak in a news story that is at least remotely related to anime. But now I have a cursed earworm…
