The next Overwatch Anniversary Event apparently brings back many skins from other events into the game. At least that’s what a leak suggests. Find out all the leaked details about the Overwatch Anniversary Event here.
The Overwatch Anniversary Event is set to start on May 22. The official Brazilian Twitter account of Overwatch accidentally published a video too early. The video is a teaser for this year’s Anniversary Event, which according to the video is set to start on May 22.
The video also shows a new skin for Junkrat. In a brief scene, the Australian demolitions expert dances in a pirate look that strongly resembles Jack Sparrow.
Are skins and brawls from other events available?
The video shows skins from other events. Particularly noticeable in the leak video is that Roadhog and Junkrat are also wearing skins from other events. Specifically, they are shown dancing in their costumes from the Halloween event and the Winter Wonderland 2017.
The text next to the video also suggests this. It states that items and content from past seasons will return. Some fans are primarily concerned with the question of whether the skins will be available in loot boxes or only for purchase. If they were in the boxes, it would be almost impossible to obtain the new skins.
A Reddit post discusses the leak in detail. Users are speculating about how Blizzard will integrate the various content. Particularly, the question of whether event modes from the arcade will also be available again is still in the air.
What else does the Anniversary Event offer?
Last year, the event included double experience points for all players. Double experience points were the most important feature of the Anniversary Event for many fans. Especially in groups, leveling up and thus obtaining loot boxes was greatly accelerated.
The Anniversary Event also brought new maps for the 3v3 mode, skins, and dances for all characters. Additionally, there was a free weekend for everyone to test Overwatch.
What content will come this year is still not known. However, Blizzard is likely to provide a statement on this in the coming days.
