The Legend of Titan – Overwatch for the Poor
Not surprisingly, but still repeatedly amusing, is the fact that good games quickly get a very “similar” product in China. This has now happened to Overwatch, which has seemingly been copied by a Chinese company. According to 2p, the displayed screenshots are apparently only concept ideas so far, but to speak of “ideas” would be exaggerated.
Not only has the character design been taken from Overwatch; the entire interface, abilities, and even the level design (those who look closely will immediately recognize the map Watchpoint: Gibraltar).
From Tracer’s pistols to Bastion’s configuration: Turret to Reaper’s shotguns, every detail of the Blizzard template has really been copied precisely.
To top it all off amusingly, the game will be called “Legend of Titan,” so that no one forgets which game Blizzard has canned and from whose “ruins” more or less Overwatch was created. According to the manufacturer, Legend of Titan is supposed to be a mix of First Person Shooter and MOBA (how surprising!), but the game is supposed to run on several mobile platforms, including the iPhone 3GS. So far, a total of $760,000 has been invested in the game, although little of it likely went into creative ideas.
However, whether the “game” will ever be released or whether it has already been legally challenged into the ground during the planning phase by Blizzard is still unknown.
