Hero Rework: Torbjörn
Torbjörn, one of the first heroes of Overwatch, has received a complete rework. After being labeled as “too strong” in the console version and being laughed at on PC, Blizzard has now given him a completely new kit.
Torbjörn’s turrets now build themselves completely and can be thrown, similar to Symmetra’s turrets since her rework. They deal damage equivalent to level 2 turrets but have less health and can only be repositioned when not in combat.
Torbjörn also receives new abilities that replace his armor and molten core. He can now buff himself and throw lava. Due to his rework, he will not be playable in ranked matches for 2 weeks.
All heroes that use shields have received a rework of their display. Shields are now more recognizable and should indicate when a shield has low health points.
Further adjustments to some heroes increase their effective range by reducing their spread or damage drop-off at longer distances. These include:
Doomfist
Soldier: 76
and Orisa
However, the patch has hit Pharah particularly hard. Since she was considered too strong in the console version by some players, she has now received adjustments for all versions.
For Pharah, it is now more important to hit rockets directly. The explosion damage of her rockets is reduced, while the direct hit damage is increased. However, she now fires in quicker succession and can move further from the explosion.
There are also some additional hero changes, map updates, bug fixes, and gameplay option changes.
