A new document promises that Overwatch 2 is coming and with it new heroes. However, Overwatch 1 also seems to be getting new modes.
These are the last days before BlizzCon, and thus we are in the peak season for leaks and information about upcoming Blizzard games. A new leak further substantiates the suspicion about Overwatch 2. It also seems that fans of the first Overwatch can look forward to new content.
Where do the leaks come from?
- On one hand, there is the magazine ESPN, which claims to have received an internal “Training Document” intended for BlizzCon. It is essentially a summary for Blizzard employees so they are prepared for their respective topic.
- Some further leaks have spread on Reddit, and the sources remain anonymous.
What is being said? ESPN claims that Overwatch 2 will definitely be presented at BlizzCon and will even be playable there. There will be a 4-player co-op map set in Toronto. Additionally, there should be a new PvP game mode called “Push”. However, it has not been revealed how it differs from the usual payload pushing.
In Overwatch 2, according to leaks, you have to earn all skins again.
Level seems to unlock passive abilities
This is how the level system works: A new image, likely from an early version of Overwatch 2, shows Tracer as a character with talent selection.
She can choose one of two talents at level 1, level 10, and level 20, thus customizing her abilities.
In the shown example, that would be:
- Adaptive Reload (Level 1): The pistols are reloaded when Tracer uses any ability.
- Hindsight (Level 1): Recall deals damage to all enemies who have recently taken damage from Tracer.
- Flash (Level 10): Teleporting through enemies deals damage.
- Chain Reaction (Level 10): Pulse Bomb causes additional explosions at targets hit.
- Vortex (Level 20): Enemies are drawn to the point where Tracer uses Recall and slowed.
- Speed Kills (Level 20): Kills cause Tracer’s cooldowns to finish faster.
What kind of new heroine is this? Furthermore, a first image of a new character has surfaced, even though nothing else is known about her. The lady has dark skin and white hair with a similar hairstyle to Lúcio. She also wears a device on her back that pumps some substance through red tubes.
Moreover, she appears to have lost her left arm, which has apparently been replaced by cybernetic prosthetics. However, this could also still be an incomplete image.
As always, all this information should naturally be taken with caution, and it could also be well-made fakes.
What do you think of these leaks? Do you find them convincing? Or is it all too absurd to really be true?
