A new artwork from Overwatch has surfaced, confirming the second installment. Moreover, it also shows a new heroine.
In the days leading up to BlizzCon, there appear to be some leaks from Blizzard: Overwatch 2 has now been virtually confirmed through another leak, as an official artwork under the title Overwatch 2 has appeared, showing several heroes in action – including Echo.
The image comes directly from Blizzard, which almost confirms its authenticity.
Where does the leak come from? Just like the artwork of the Lich King Bolvar in World of Warcraft, this image comes from the Blizzard Gear Store. There you can purchase various merchandise related to Blizzard’s games.
The displayed artwork will reportedly be available for purchase as a print to hang on the wall – the corresponding file has already been retrieved.
In the meantime, the “leak” has been resolved and the image can no longer be accessed. However, it is obviously too late, and the image is now circulating.
The image also shows the new heroine Echo: Particularly exciting about the artwork is that you can see Echo in the background, who was just leaked as a possible new heroine a few days ago. Since the Omnic lady is represented in the artwork, we can assume that she will soon be a playable character. Whether she will appear only in Overwatch 2 or also be a playable hero in Overwatch 1 remains to be seen.
Concrete information will be available this Friday, as BlizzCon 2019 takes place then, where many new announcements for fresh games or expansions are expected. We will report on it immediately.
