The start of the beta for Overwatch 2 has been officially confirmed by Blizzard for April. It’s starting on April 26. We will show you what content awaits you.
What is known? It has been known for years that Blizzard has been working on Overwatch 2. Now you can finally test it yourself – and that in just a few weeks.

PvP Beta for Overwatch 2 – What’s Included
When does it start? Blizzard confirmed on March 18, 2022, that the PvP beta for Overwatch 2 will start on April 26. So far, there is no exact time for the start.
What will be played? The PvP beta of Overwatch 2 offers gameplay in a 5v5 format on various maps and modes.
What do we know about the new hero? To make participating in the beta tempting, a new heroine is making her debut in the testing phase. Sojourn is a former captain of Overwatch. During her active time, she received cybernetic upgrades for her brain.
According to gameplay videos, you play as her in Overwatch 2 with a railgun. It is supposed to fire as an automatic weapon and also switch to strong single shots.

What changes for other heroes? For the PvP beta of Overwatch 2, Blizzard has planned some balance changes and reworks of heroes. The following heroes will get a rework that you can play in the beta:
- Orisa
- Doomfist
- Bastion
- Sombra
Which maps are in the beta? You can play the maps from Overwatch 1 in the PvP beta of OW2. There are also 4 new maps. These are:
- Circuit Royal – A new escort map
- Midtown – A new hybrid map
- Toronto – A new map for the push mode
- Rome – Another new map for the push mode
How can you register? If you want to participate, you can now register for the beta of Overwatch 2 at playoverwatch.com. You just need to press the button and log in with your corresponding BattleNet profile there.
What new mode is there? In the embedded gameplay trailer, you can already get a first glimpse of the new Push mode (translated to “Schub”). You can also play this in the PvP beta of OW2.
In it, you are supposed to escort a robot across the map – but if you are unlucky, your opponents might push it back. Our expert Benedict Grothaus believes that the new Push mode could promote unpopular heroes.
Additionally, you can look forward to using a new ping system.
