A nasty trick in Overwatch 2 leads to multiple kills, as the combination of two specific characters is virtually unavoidable.
With Overwatch 2, many of the existing heroes have been significantly overhauled, and one of the biggest changes concerns Orisa. The Omnic tank has received fundamentally new abilities, making her quite strong in stopping enemies’ advances. However, her ultimate ability is devastating – if it actually hits targets. And there’s a trick to help with that.
What is Orisa’s ultimate? The ultimate “Terrawoge” (“Terra Surge”) pulls all enemies within a certain radius towards Orisa. The ability then begins to charge, causing massive damage around Orisa after the time has elapsed. The ability can be triggered early, but the damage is reduced if that happens.
The challenge here is that the enemy characters have a few seconds to escape after being pulled in. If you want to deal maximum damage, it may happen that the enemies have already escaped the influence of the ability. Therefore, you often have to trigger the ultimate prematurely and accept reduced damage.
How does the trick work? The “trick” is a combo with the damage-dealer hero Symmetra. She still has the ability in Overwatch 2 to place a teleporter. Allies can enter it to be teleported to another spot where Symmetra has placed the second teleporter.
In fact, the teleporter allows immobile characters to reach higher places, take certain shortcuts, or simply move behind the enemy – but another trick is possible with Orisa’s ultimate.
While Orisa is charging her Terrawoge, Symmetra can simply place the teleporter under Orisa. The counterpart will land among the enemies, who for the moment believe they are safe.
However, just before the ultimate fully takes effect, Orisa steps through the teleporter – this is also possible while the ultimate is already active!
This creates quite a surprise and nearly guarantees a multi-kill, as very few characters survive the full damage of Orisa’s ultimate.
Meanwhile, the trick has gone around the subreddit for Overwatch, and many are trying to replicate it. Sometimes it works better than other times – but it always results in a lot of fun.
Do you know other combinations of this kind that cause particularly astonished faces?
However, Orisa is currently seen quite rarely – as the professionals all use the same tank.
