Outriders brings the next update for the demo, which is supposed to fix a particularly nasty bug. The issue is related to missing equipment and caused trouble for numerous players. MeinMMO summarizes everything about the update for you.
What is this bug? The so-called inventory bug could cause players’ inventories to completely disappear. Affected players were left without any equipment. Some even lost their legendary weapons.
The developers at People Can Fly announced via Twitter that they have apparently identified and fixed the problem. The update can now be downloaded and is about 220 MB in size (PS4).
They actually rolled out the fix server-side on March 15, but with today’s update, they have implemented further changes to ensure that this bug does not occur again. If you lost items after March 16, you can contact the developers through the Outriders subreddit or via Twitter under the update post.
For those who are among the unfortunate ones that lost legendary weapons, there is also good news: People Can Fly will restore them.
Outriders will give players their legendary weapons back
What does that mean? According to the developers, they are now working on compensating players who lost their weapons due to the inventory bug. They are still working on the technical details but already provide an outlook on the process:
- The restoration will take place as an event and happen on one day
- There is no specific date yet, but they aim to do it before the full release on April 1
- Items with a lower rarity than “Legendary” will not be restored
- Only legendary items that have disappeared due to this specific bug can be restored
People Can Fly clearly points out that there is no hundred percent guarantee for a restoration. Although they are working on a solution, there may be technical hurdles preventing a restoration. They want to be as transparent as possible about this.
Another bug makes accolades disappear
What is the problem? Furthermore, according to the developers, there is a bug that makes players’ accolades disappear. This is the next issue they want to address. Those affected should reach out in the subreddit or on Twitter under the corresponding post to the developers.
What are accolades? These are the in-game achievements of Outriders. They allow you to unlock things like emotes or visual customization options for your characters’ banners. Accolades include things like “Kill X enemies with weapon X” and similar tasks.
