In the latest update for the demo of Outriders, the drop mechanics for legendary weapons have been revised. MeinMMO shows you 5 spots where you can now farm legendary weapons.
What has changed? At the start of the demo, you could mainly obtain legendary weapons through loot boxes. So far, in the campaign mission area, you could simply open several loot boxes without defeating a single enemy.
Players could run this path as many times as they wanted, allowing them to access the coveted legendary weapons without any fighting. This has been removed with the patch. Although the boxes can still be opened, they no longer spit out legendary loot.
However, there are other methods to find these coveted guns. With the update, the rewards for completing side missions again have been revised. In addition, new sources for legendary loot have been added.
1. Mission: “Revenge”
This is how you can farm there: The side mission throws some enemies like snipers or armored foes in your path. Since the update, these enemies also have a slight chance of dropping legendary weapons.
You have two options:
- You can play only the first part of the mission and take out the snipers and armored enemies.
- Let yourself be killed and start over.
- Or you can play the mission completely through to the boss.
The latter can also be worth it, as since the patch, you earn an extra reward for repeating side missions, which could also be a legendary weapon in the best case.
The reward automatically lands in your inventory after speaking with the quest giver. So check after completion to see what you received.
2. Campaign Mission: “Reunion” without Boss
This is how you can farm there: In this mission, you face the first major boss of the campaign and must fight your way to the solar tower. However, you can also farm legendary loot there without the boss.
- Run through until you reach the area in front of the solar tower.
- On the way up, many enemies will confront you. Collect around 20 of them and let them chase you; then you just need to knock them out one by one.
- This works best with the Trickster or the Devastator, who can easily wipe out enemy hordes with their abilities. You can find out what the classes in Outriders can do here: Everything we know so far about the 4 character classes
- It’s best to leave one enemy alive so they can kill you and you can repeat the whole thing from a checkpoint.
3. Campaign Mission: “Reunion” – Mini Boss
This is how you can farm there: In the same mission, there is a mini boss at the decaying outpost, the Captain of the Vanguard.
- To reach him, you must keep walking from the intersection to the next area.
- There you will encounter enemies. Once you have defeated them, your next step is to go through a door.
- There the mini boss awaits you. Kill him and let yourself be killed again.
Then you repeat the whole process. At the door, there is a checkpoint, allowing you to quickly take out this mini boss again and again.
4. Demo Boss Gauss
This is how you can farm there: If you have already completed the mission “Reunion” once, you can simply choose the story point in the lobby where you spawn just before the boss. You just need to start the fight in the solar tower and not defeat any enemies beforehand.
Once you have defeated the boss, a loot box will be waiting for you. This is the only remaining box in the demo that has a chance for legendary loot. After all, it should be worth it to defeat the boss. You can repeat this as many times as you want.
5. Side Mission: “Shaky Ground”
This is how you can farm there: Those who have farmed legendary weapons before probably know this mission well. Despite the update, this method still works.
- Fight your way to the last part of the mission. There you will encounter the Captain.
- You can take him out quickly, let enemies kill you, and repeat this any number of times.
- The boss still drops loot.
- Also, kill the snipers before you let yourself be killed.
- They can increase your chances of legendary loot.

General Tips for Farming Legendary Weapons
What you should pay attention to: With all these methods, remember to keep your world tier at 5. This increases your chances of legendary loot. This overall remains low, so it can take many runs and hours to find a weapon.
If you see a legendary drop flashing, collect it as quickly as possible. If you die in between, there’s a chance the loot may be lost. So, save yourself that frustration.
Why farm at all? The progress you make in the demo can be carried over to the main game. Thus, you can start the release of Outriders on April 1, 2021, well-prepared.
