Outriders has been available since April 1st, but there are numerous issues at launch. Developer People Can Fly has published a list of known issues and is commenting on solutions.
What’s going on? There were many problems at the release of Outriders. In addition to server outages in the evening, there are several other issues across different areas of the game.
On the official Twitter account, the developers have commented on this, and a list of known issues can be found in the Outriders subreddit. There are even some workarounds for certain issues until an update hopefully resolves the problems completely.
This is what the developers say: People Can Fly is working hard to identify all the issues quickly and already offers some workarounds. They are working as quickly as possible on updates to fully resolve the errors.
Here is the last Twitter post from People Can Fly:
MeinMMO summarizes the most important points for you and shows you the workarounds that People Can Fly suggests.
Crossplay issues between PC and consoles
What is the problem? While crossplay in the demo version of Outriders mostly worked without issues, there are massive problems at launch.
PC and console players cannot play together. According to People Can Fly, the issue lies in the day-one update of Outriders, which caused “desynchronization” between PC and consoles.
Currently, crossplay only works between Epic and Steam, and between Xbox and Playstation. The automatic player search is disabled between PC and consoles.
The developer advises not to attempt further until the problem is resolved as quickly as possible. You can find the post on reddit (via reddit).
Issues on PC and with DX12
The PC version of Outriders is suffering from stuttering, crashes, and various other issues affecting numerous players.
What is the problem with DirectX 12? This leads to crashes and numerous performance issues for some players. There is currently no workaround for this, and the developers emphasize that they are working hard on a solution.
Are there any solutions? There is no direct solution, but you can at least circumvent the problem. The developers have suggested some workarounds for this (via steam). First, check if you have the latest Nvidia driver installed. If so, you should try reverting to an older version, as the issues likely lie here.
Otherwise, there are alternative workarounds that might help:
- Disable Ansel
- Disable DLSS
- Turn off V-Sync
- Enable the FPS limiter and try different settings
- Enable controller support in the settings, even if you are not playing with a controller. (you can do this in the “Big Picture” menu)
- Play in windowed mode
A proper solution may only be possible with a new patch.
Disappearing HUBs, crashes in quest “A Bad Day”
What else is going on? In addition to the major problems mentioned above, there are other known bugs. Here’s a summary:
- For some players, the HUD disappears.
- Workaround: Return to the lobby.
- The problem could still occur with every restart of the game.
- Pre-order bonus not in storage because the tab is blocked
- Workaround: Returning to the lobby should help here as well.
- Quest “A Bad Day” crashes on quest reward
- Workaround: Place the items from the Hells Rangers pack back in your storage. After receiving the reward, you can take them out again.
An overview of the issues being investigated by the developers can be found in the Outriders subreddit. (via reddit) We at MeinMMO will keep you updated as always.
