Outriders presents first major expansion ‘Worldslayer’ – Brings new weapons, story, enemies, and endgame

The new expansion “Worldslayer” for the loot shooter Outriders has been officially announced, including a trailer. What to expect in the expansion can be found here.

When is the “Worldslayer” expansion coming? The major expansion for Outriders will be released on June 30, 2022. It will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, as well as Google Stadia and GeForce NOW.

Pre-order customers will also receive 48 hours of early access.

This was announced in the current Outriders broadcast, after there was initially only a small teaser, now also presented with an official trailer:

What’s included in the DLC? Basically, the expansion continues where Outriders left off: The game continues to rely on brutal shooter action combined with powerful abilities and loot hunting.

Among other things, you can look forward to a new weapon rarity: The “Apocalypse” weapons will be even stronger than the legendary weapons in Outriders – as they come with an extra mod slot. Furthermore, there will be new mods.

However, they will not be easy to obtain: Because the new “Apocalypse” tiers replace the previous challenge ranks and go up to level 40.

All of this is embedded in a new story that revolves around the day of reckoning. The last remnants of humanity left on Enoch face their final end – which of course you want to prevent.

To do this, you must travel through new regions, survive new missions, and further develop your skills.

Ice and snowstorms now plague Enoch. Not only are there new variants of enemies, but also completely new types of foes. As an antagonist, you will face the dark ruler Ereshkigal.

Even more new features in Worldslayer:

• You can unlock a secondary skill tree, which provides your original classes with two subclasses.
• Additionally, a new long-term progression system will be introduced, allowing you to enhance endurance, brutality, courage, and anomaly power. This way, your Outriders can become increasingly powerful – even beyond previous limits.
• Lastly, there is a significant change to the endgame. Once you have defeated Ereshkigal and her minions, you can face the challenge of Tarya Cratar – but this will be introduced at a later time.
