Since the end of February, Outriders is playable in a demo. In the trial version, interested players can play the beginning of the main story. But how long will it be available?
Unlike most loot shooters of recent years, Outriders has not released a beta version. Instead, the developers at People Can Fly opted for a more old-school approach and released a demo version that has been available since February 25th.
What’s included in the demo: You can play the first story chapter of Outriders, including character creation, class selection, and side missions. During these, you can level up to level 7 and unlock 5 of a total of 15 world tiers.
The demo is completely free and can be downloaded on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4. But how long will it last?
It varies from case to case. Beta versions usually do not correspond to the release version of a game and serve for stress testing certain mechanics, such as online features. Also, betas usually end after a short period.
Demo versions are typically a small part of a game that is considered finished and serves as a demonstration. They are less about testing features. Nevertheless, demos can be used to gather feedback and improve certain things.
How long will the demo last?
Will the demo remain after release? Yes. Currently, there are no known plans for the demo to become unplayable after the official release of Outriders. So if you’re still undecided, you can try Outriders anytime in the free demo and then still think about the release version.
This is especially interesting because progress from the demo will carry over to the main game. You can try out any of the four characters and find cool gear like legendary weapons right away.

When will Outriders be released? The loot shooter is set to be released on April 1, 2021. Then Outriders will come out for PC (Steam, Epic), PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. Xbox players who own the Game Pass can be particularly happy. Outriders will be included in the Xbox Game Pass at launch.
What is Outriders actually? The third-person shooter focuses on story, RPG mechanics, and looting gear. The story is set in a dark sci-fi setting where humanity lands on a new planet called Enoch. There, a variety of dangers await, both from other humans and from alien and supernatural threats.
