The Trickster or Assassin is the agile melee fighter in Outriders. MeinMMO presents a build by YouTuber NickTew that allows you to level up quickly and reach the endgame fast.
What can the Assassin do in Outriders? The nimble assassin manipulates space and time, can teleport, and slow down enemies. He heals himself by killing enemies in close combat. His strength lies in quickly taking out individual enemies.
In this article, we present a build for the assassin, originating from YouTuber Nick Tew. (via YouTube) The Trickster build is designed to level up quickly and reach the endgame. You can even continue to use it in the endgame until you find better gear.
Assassin Build – Skill Tree, Abilities, and Gear
These perks are needed: NickTew focuses entirely on the assassin subclass of the skill tree in his build. Here you mainly get bonuses on weapon damage. The ability Twisted Rounds, which this build is based on, is also enhanced.
With the assassin’s perks, you have a wide selection and can choose according to your preferences and available equipment. Some perks, such as “Weapon Trickery,” “Death Probability,” or “Unexpected End,” appear multiple times. You should choose these every time.

These perks are needed for the Trickster build
Here are the essential perks of the build:
- Weapon Trickery: +15 % weapon damage at short range
- Death Probability: Increases weapon damage by +8 %
- Weapon Trickery: Increases weapon damage at short range by +15 %
- Mastery: Shotguns – +20 % damage with shotguns (of course, only if you are using shotguns)
- Outrider Executioner: Activating mobility abilities increases weapon damage by +50 % for 8 seconds
- Mobility abilities are skills like Hunt The Prey (Level 4) or Borrowed Time (Level 13)
- Devastating Firepower: Activating deception abilities increases your weapon damage by +50 % for 8 seconds.
- Unexpected End: When you attack enemies from behind, weapon damage increases by +20 %
- Strange Growth: Increases the magazine size by +50 %
- Expert: Here you can choose between +12 % damage for assault weapons (assault rifles, submachine guns, etc.) or +12 % damage for shotguns
- Cold Calculation: For each enemy at close range, weapon damage increases by +8 %
Once you have selected these perks, you have 5 skill points left to distribute as you wish.
The perks Devastating Firepower and Outrider Executioner are particularly important. Alternatively, you can also choose Sprout of Power. This perk has the same effect for damage abilities, but in this build the choice fell on Devastating Firepower.
The choice is important and also determines the skills you need for the build.
These skills fit best with the Trickster build
For the road to endgame, NickTew recommends the following skills:
- Hunt The Prey: Teleports you behind a target and gives you a shield bonus.
- Venator’s Knife: Throws an energy blade at your enemies. Upon hitting, it deals damage, jumps to up to 5 enemies in the vicinity, marks them, and slows down marked enemies for 10 seconds. The first hit target takes double damage.
- Twisted Rounds: Fills your magazine with anomaly ammunition that deals significantly more damage.
By constantly activating Venator’s Knife and Hunt The Prey, the perks Devastating Firepower and Outrider Executioner remain active. This allows you to trigger the bonuses repeatedly.
In conjunction with Twisted Rounds, you gain even more damage bonuses and can deal massive amounts of damage.
Weapons, Armor, Mods
This is his equipment: Basically, you have the freedom to choose. However, NickTew advises against rifles. In close combat, it’s not advisable to rely on precision. Enemy groups would overwhelm you, which is why ranged weapons are not a good choice.
Generally, automatic weapons and shotguns are very well suited for the build. More important are the modifications you choose.
- Armor Mods: Definitely focus on mods that enhance the skill Twisted Rounds. For everything else, you have the freedom to choose what you need.
- Weapon Mods: Here, too, you have a generous selection, but there is one mod that is particularly recommended – Perpetuum Mobile.
- This level 2 mod allows you to restore ammunition by killing enemies. This means you basically never have to reload.
- This keeps Twisted Rounds from running out, as the skill only goes on cooldown when you need to reload.
- You have a permanent damage buff from this, as the skill is always active.
What attributes are recommended on the equipment? Here you should focus on weapon damage and close combat damage.
