What are legendary weapons? These are weapons with unique effects that can be found in Outriders. Normally, you acquire them through drops from enemies, but this requires a lot of luck. The world tier also plays a role – the higher your world rank, the better the loot that drops.
Legendary items are not necessarily the strongest in the game on their own, but they provide you with unique mods when disassembled. These can be installed in other items, allowing you to build your own top items. This crafting system significantly sets Outriders apart from other loot shooters.
Regardless of drops, there are some places in the game that will guarantee you a legendary weapon. Here we present 3 spots in the game.
Legendary Weapon through Story Boss – Here’s how it works
Here you can get the weapon: For this, you need to defeat the story boss Chrysalismutant (eng: Chrysaloid). You can find him in chapter six, in the forest, as the fourth boss. Once you have defeated the Chrysalismutant, you will receive a guaranteed legendary weapon as a reward, but only for the first kill.
The weapon that drops, however, is random. You will get a Legendary, but you won’t know in advance which one. Additionally, this drop is only guaranteed on the first victory over Chrysaloid. If you defeat the boss a second time, there is no guaranteed legendary weapon anymore. After that, the mutant is still worthwhile, for farming Titan.
The good thing about this is that you can defeat the boss even at world tier 1. So you don’t have to sweat excessively against the mutant; you can even take him down on the easiest level.

Legendary Weapon through World Tier 12 – Here’s how it works
Here you can get the weapon: You actually don’t have to do anything but play. Once you reach world tier 12, you will receive a golden chest as a reward, which will give you a legendary weapon. For example, the report about the weapon “The Wicker”. This is a legendary SMG that you can equip directly after the drop. However, there are also other weapons as rewards.
World tier 12 is not so easy to achieve, though. You will need to spend several hours in the game to level up to that point. You level up faster in the world rank if you die less frequently. So if you often bite the dust, you’ll need to be patient.
Legendary Weapon through Quest – Here’s how it works
Here you can get the weapon: For this, you need to complete the quest “Big Iron”. There you have to find 3 weapon parts and eliminate some enemies while searching for them. Once you have found all the weapon parts, you will receive a legendary weapon as a reward. You must then return to Channa after finding the weapon parts to claim your Legendary.
The weapon parts are quite tricky to find, so you will need to search thoroughly. Be prepared to eliminate numerous enemies before you’ve gathered all the parts.
In the end, you will be guaranteed a reward and will not have to rely on a random drop. You will have the choice between 3 different weapons:
- Aerie Master: A shotgun
- The Landlubber: A sniper rifle
- Grim Marrow: A light machine gun
Depending on your playstyle, you can choose one of the 3 weapons and use it to slay enemies in the future.
