With Patch 1.08, Outriders aims to resolve a serious issue affecting damage calculation which could lead to frustrating player deaths. MeinMMO summarizes the patch notes for you.
What’s included in the patch? Patch 1.08 is primarily aimed at fixing the annoying armor bug. Under certain circumstances, this could cause the armor value calculation to be incorrect, resulting in players taking additional damage.
Additionally, there are some other fixes and adjustments. However, you should not expect extensive changes. The armor bug has proven to be particularly complicated, according to the developers People Can Fly, and was apparently difficult to fix.
We provide you with an overview of the patch notes and summarize the current situation of Outriders for you.
The patch notes for 1.08
When is the patch online? Patch 1.08 has been available for download since today, May 25. On Steam, the download size is 2.2 GB.
For which platforms was the patch released? Patch 1.08 was released for PC, PS4, and PS5 as well as Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Unfortunately, users of Google Stadia are still left out.
In addition to the aforementioned armor bug, there are some minor fixes for crashes. A specific enemy type has also been reworked. The patch notes come from the Outriders subreddit and were published by the developer there. (via reddit.com)
These are the fixes:
- A bug that could cause an incorrect calculation of armor values leading to players potentially suffering additional damage has been fixed.
- The Broodmother enemy type has been reworked, as certain attacks could kill players in one hit.
- A problem that could prevent players from logging in has been resolved.
- Numerous causes of crashes have been fixed.
- Other minor bug fixes have been implemented.
The developers also point out that there may still be a display error on the expedition completion screen. It is possible that the value “Blocked Damage” is not displayed correctly.
This is a “cosmetic” error and not an actual problem with the blocked damage in an expedition.
They continue to request that any issues with weapon and armor mods are reported and that feedback continues to be provided.
Outriders also has numerous other problems. For example, the version for Google Stadia lags behind all other platforms. The developers promised to bring this up to date. However, no new information has been provided since then.
Additionally, there are issues with the Cyclone skills of the Tricksters, for which fans have been waiting for a fix since release. It is currently unclear whether another patch with further fixes will be coming soon. However, there is other news about the future of Outriders.
It looks like we can expect DLCs
What does the future hold? Last week, People Can Fly and Square Enix once again confirmed the success of Outriders. Although there have been numerous issues, this is just the beginning. They intend to continue supporting the game.
Will there be DLCs? It looks that way. This is indicated by a tweet from developer People Can Fly, which also released several statistics about Outriders. The developers thanked fans for their support. Furthermore, it states: “We are also looking forward to expanding Outriders in the future…” (via Twitter)
Although this is not yet a hundred percent confirmation for DLCs, it aligns with the developers’ earlier statements. If Outriders proves successful, they also want to create corresponding DLCs.
However, these would only be significant expansions that include a retelling of the story. So, one can be curious about what awaits fans in the future.
The statistics presented included facts such as which player has invested the most hours since release. At the time of the tweet, this player had invested around 800 hours.
Over 1.9 trillion scrap has been collected, 20 trillion kills achieved, and 1.6 quadrillion damage dealt. That’s quite a lot of zeros.
