Outriders: Devastator build makes you a tank that still deals damage

The Devastator is somewhat of the tank of Outriders. MeinMMO shows you a solo build that allows you to take a lot of damage while also dealing significant damage.

What can the Devastator do in Outriders? The class can control gravity and has powerful abilities that allow you to create earthquakes, reflect enemy bullets, or impale your opponents with earth pillars. Additionally, it can hover and launch powerful drops attacks from the air.

We present to you a build from YouTuber Gaming_Wolf_, which is especially suitable for solo players and can, according to him, be played even in Expeditions, the endgame of Outriders.

The build is based on epic gear, so you are not dependent on legendary items and can create it quite easily.

Devastator Build – Skill Tree, Abilities, Gear

What kind of build is this? Gaming_Wolf_ relies on the subclass Wrecker and invests all skill points into the upper branch of the skill tree. This is the most offensive subclass and provides massive damage bonuses for weapons.

The skills are designed to group enemies at one point and then wipe them out in one shot. Remaining enemies will then be mowed down using weapons and damage buffs.

Thanks to the Golem skill, weapon and armor mods, you are still quite robust and can recover massive health points. This makes the build not only offensively powerful, but it is also quite hard to kill.

These perks you need:

• Chaos (x4)
  • Your weapon damage is increased by 8 %.
• Expert: Shotguns
  • Your damage dealt with shotguns is increased by 12 %.
• Armor Breaker (x3)
  • Your armor penetration is increased by 10 %.
• Mastery: Shotguns
  • Shotgun damage is increased by 15 %.
  • The chance of looting this weapon type from enemies is increased by 20 %.
  • Shotguns: Pumpgun, Automatic Shotgun
• Bludgeoner (x2)
  • Weapon damage dealt at close range is increased by 15 %.
• Expert: Assault Weapons
  • The damage dealt with assault weapons is increased by 12 %.
• Champion
  • If you use “Protection” abilities, your weapon damage is increased by 45 % for ten seconds.
• Dead Center
  • Your critical damage dealt with hits is increased by 20 %.
• Mastery: Assault Weapons
  • The damage with assault weapons is increased by 20 %.
  • The chance of looting this weapon type from enemies increases by 20 %.
  • Assault Weapons: Assault Rifle, Light Machine Gun, Submachine Gun, Double-barreled Pistol.
• Suck Them Dry (x1)
  • Your leech damage with weapons is increased by 5 %.
• Bullet Storm
  • You reload your weapon 20 % faster.
• Ammunition Stockpile
  • Your magazine is increased by 50 %.
• Confrontation
  • If you take damage from enemies, they will experience a reduction of their physical damage by 10 % for five seconds. Double effect if you also deal damage to the enemy.
• Altered Charge
  • When “Kinetic” abilities end, your weapon damage is increased by 70 % for ten seconds.

The Skills of the Devastator Build

The build relies on the following abilities:

• Golem: Gives you armor that protects you from 65 % of incoming damage. Lasts 16 seconds.
• Endless Mass: This ability summons a gravitational stone that attracts all enemies in the vicinity and inflicts bleeding damage. It then explodes, damaging all enemies in the area.
• Gravity Leap: You can hover in the air and launch a powerful drop attack on targeted enemies.

This is how it’s played: With Endless Mass, you can concentrate enemies at one spot and take out smaller enemies in one shot. You can then either jump into the fray with Gravity Leap, or eliminate the remaining enemies with your weapon. Golem protects you from damage and makes you the offensive tank.

Weapons, Armors, Mods

These weapons you should use: You will primarily be engaging in close combat. So focus on weapons like shotguns, assault rifles, or submachine guns. These will be enhanced by the Wrecker skill tree anyway. The mods on your weapons are also important.

These weapons and mods are used by the YouTuber:

• Primary Weapon (Assault Rifle)
  • Life Stock: For every enemy you kill with a magazine, you recover a significant amount of health points once you reload. (Cooldown: 1 sec.)
  • Minefield: Kills spawn small mines that damage enemies in the vicinity of the slain enemy. (Cooldown: 1 sec.)

Minefield is a particularly good offensive modification. The damage from the explosions is actually higher than the mod states. The passive bonuses from the skill tree further enhance the damage.

Life Stock ensures that you constantly recover health points as soon as you reload. In combination with the abilities of the Devastator, you will become the offensive tank.

• Secondary Weapon (Shotgun)
  • Icebreaker: Killshots on frozen enemies trigger an explosion that damages enemies in the vicinity. (Cooldown: 1 sec.)
  • Improved Freezing Bullets: Shots cause a frost effect on enemies. (Cooldown: 4 sec.)

This weapon is particularly effective against boss enemies due to the frost effect. However, the armor mods are even more important for the build.

These are the essential armor mods:

• Golem of Death: Extends the duration of Golem for each kill by 2 seconds
• Resistance: When Golem is active, resistance is increased by 33 %
• Perseverance: Extends the duration of Golem by 100 %
  • Optional but very useful: Buckshot Shells (Increases shotgun damage by 10 %) and What Goes Around (Incoming hits have a 30 % chance of being reflected)

In combination with the modifications, Golem becomes the most important skill of this build, making you an absolute tank, lasting significantly longer and being extendable with kills.
