Outriders has likely fixed the annoying inventory bug with the latest patch 1.06. However, there are still numerous other problems. Some of them are expected to be fixed in the next update. MeinMMO summarizes for you what we know so far.
What is the situation in Outriders? Last week, the inventory bug caused a stir. With this bug, players could lose their entire equipment. With update 1.06, released on April 15, the problem seems to be resolved.
However, there are still numerous minor and major problems that the co-op shooter is struggling with. Apparently, another patch is already in the works. The community manager confirmed this in the Outriders subreddit.
What could be addressed in the upcoming patch and the status of the restoration of items lost due to the inventory bug will be shown here.
Next patch is expected to fix buggy Assassin skill and many other problems
What do we know about the next update? Unfortunately, there is a lack of concrete information. So far, it has only been confirmed on reddit that a “larger” follow-up patch is in the works. This has been confirmed by the community manager thearcan (via. reddit).
It can be said for sure that the next update will include a fix for a buggy skill of the Assassin. This pertains to the skill Hunt Fever. It is supposed to teleport you behind enemies, but it seems to not function correctly for some players.
Other fixes have not been specifically mentioned yet. According to thearcan, the developers are bundling numerous fixes in the patch that were initially set aside due to work on the inventory bug. Here is the statement from the community manager:
“We are bundling lower-priority fixes into a larger follow-up patch while previous patches focused on the more serious issues.
If we had released the lower-priority fixes in the other patches, it would have significantly extended the testing time required and they would not have been able to be released yet.

What else could be included in the patch? There are numerous problems that could be addressed with the patch. Some of these are summarized in the official reddit post from the developers.
- Console players are still struggling with the login screen, many are unable to log into the game at all.
- The developers recommend completely shutting down the console and clearing the cache.
- One player reported that a connection test helped on PS5 when he got stuck on the login screen. A complete disconnection helped others as well (via reddit).
- Quest markers often do not show the correct path to the target.
- Hit registration is faulty, especially in co-op.
- General, numerous server and stability issues.
- Enemy balancing, especially in endgame.
There is definitely enough to do for People Can Fly, and it remains to be seen what will be addressed next. Additionally, the restoration of items for players affected by the inventory bug is also pending.
More info about the restoration will be available early next week
This is the current state: Around patch 1.06, there was initially some confusion. Many players were disappointed when they found their inventory empty or could not load their characters after the download.
The patch was supposed to fix just the bug itself and not restore any items, as the developers also stated in the patch notes. However, work is still being done on a solution for the inventory issue. People Can Fly promise to deliver more concrete information on this at the beginning of the coming week.
The fix implemented with patch 1.06 seems to be successful at least. The developer is keeping an eye on the situation.
When can we expect a restoration? Although there is no concrete information on this yet, People Can Fly has at least narrowed it down. In response to a concerned fan, the developer wrote on Twitter: “You don’t need to worry – The process will not take a month. We just haven’t published details yet because our teams are working to improve, optimize, and test our solution.” (via Twitter)
How will the restoration proceed? This is what the developers have revealed so far:
- The restoration will happen on a specific day and will be a major, one-time event.
- Only the most valuable items will likely be restored, meaning epic (purple) and legendary equipment.
- Rare (blue) equipment is likely not to be restored.
- The restoration will add the items to your inventory.
- It’s possible that the restored items will not have exactly the same stats as your old items.

What about compensation? As a gesture of goodwill, People Can Fly has announced a legendary weapon for all players who played from the release period of April 1 to April 11.
This compensation is still planned but will only be delivered once the players’ items have been restored (via Twitter).
