A new update 1.06 for Outriders on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) is now available. The update is supposed to finally resolve the issues with the inventory bug that has plagued the game since release.
What is the problem? The bug is a huge issue for everyone affected by it: it is an “Inventory Wipe” that simply clears the entire inventory. Since release, players have repeatedly been hit seemingly randomly.
A first patch came out, however, players continued to report the problem. Especially if one has already invested many hours into the game, a loss of inventory is particularly painful.
The developers have now made further improvements.
New patch 1.06 aims to protect inventory – What about lost items?
This is what the patch brings: As the developers report, the patch is primarily intended to ensure that no inventory wipes occur in the future. The recovery of lost items is a separate process.
While they are “confident,” the developers stated in a post (via reddit), they want to keep an eye on the problem: “We want to use the weekend to continue monitoring the situation and make sure that no more players encounter problems before we begin the recovery [of the items].”
Once the developers are satisfied with the effectiveness of the patch, they want to provide more details on the timing of the inventory recovery for affected players:
“While our teams have mainly focused on preventing further inventory deletions, we have also continued to look for ways to improve our recovery process. We will update you with these final details as soon as we have tested and confirmed what is possible.”
Developers warn of the problem: According to the developers, with the new patch, individual players may experience connection issues in multiplayer and inventory items becoming temporarily invisible.
This is a known issue that is only expected to occur temporarily and is part of the plan. Those affected should restart the game (after a few minutes) – then the items should reappear.
