Outlaws of the Old West marks the launch of a new MMO in Early Access, which could be described as an ARK with a Western scenario. But how is the game received?
What is Outlaws of the Wild West? The MMO is a sandbox game that follows in the footsteps of ARK and Atlas and even comes from former ARK developers. You try to survive in the Wild West and interact with other players.

Early Access Launch with Familiar Issues
How did the launch go? The release took place on March 12. As it is an Early Access version, problems were expected, and they did occur.
- The performance suffers: there are frequent stutters.
- The balancing needs to be optimized, especially regarding weapon damage.
- There are still several bugs. For example, the controls can suddenly stop responding, or items can simply disappear from the inventory.
- Farming and animal breeding do not work yet.
However, the developers are working on patches and have already released two updates that mainly address bugs.
Players Recognize the Potential
How is the MMO received by players? The ratings on Steam are currently balanced at 60 percent. It is criticized that Outlaws of the Old West is still in a very unfinished state, even for an Early Access game.
Yet, if you look beyond the technical issues, a very interesting sandbox game in the style of ARK and Atlas emerges, which can stand out due to the Western scenario and has quite a bit of potential.

According to Steamcharts, there are about 1,600 players online at the same time on average. The launch has not gone as well as with Atlas, which is probably due to the fact that the developers made little advertising for Outlaws of the Wild West.
