What is happening with Rift?
For an almost dead MMORPG, which has had hardly any news in the past years, Rift is surprisingly lively this year. In June 2025, the first update for Rift since May 2022 surprisingly went live . There were new features for the summer festival, expanded graphics settings, and more. Further patches followed and there was even a presence at Gamescom.
One of the trailers for the MMORPG Rift:
In November, a part of the community wanted to lure new players to the servers of Rift with an event. The action was well received, and the community showed itself at its best. However, a noticeable number of new or returning players could not be sustainably lured to the servers.
Currently, about 200 to 400 people are playing the MMORPG from Gamigo simultaneously on Steam. The chances are good that Rift will also make it to my predictions list next year. Don’t worry, Rift. I’m a terrible predictor!
What is happening with Tera (Console)?
While the servers for the PC version were shut down on June 30, 2022, you can still experience the online role-playing game on PlayStation and Xbox if you are interested. Why? Because apparently enough people are using this service. However, due to the lack of official numbers from Bluehole, this cannot be determined more precisely.
It is clear, however, that there continue to be regular status updates and patches on tera-console.com. For example, a new seasonal system landed on the servers on November 20, featuring seasonal challenges and rewards.
What is happening with Life is Feudal: MMO?
No more than 10 players on average in the past 30 days (according to steamcharts.com). A balanced rating with only 40 percent positive reviews on Steam. An early access phase that has now lasted 7 years. No new update from the developers this year. I believe: The developers have simply forgotten or given up on Life is Feudal: MMO.
