The MMORPG Chrono Odyssey has received relatively little attention so far here in the West. Karsten Scholz, our MMORPG expert here at MeinMMO, has taken a closer look at the game and makes it sound quite appealing.
What kind of MMORPG is this?
- Chrono Odyssey comes from the Korean studio Npixel, with the publisher Kakao Games backing it, which also distributes games like Path of Exile 2 and Arche Age.
- Chrono Odyssey has received attention especially for its beautiful graphics, but many details about the gameplay are still missing.
- However, there is already a playable version, and details about the upcoming MMORPG have surfaced from it.
This is what makes Chrono Odyssey so special: At the FYNG Show during Caggtus 2025, MeinMMO editor-in-chief Leya Jankowski, our MMORPG expert Karsten Scholz, and our colleague Julius Busch from GameStar discussed upcoming MMORPGs, including Chrono Odyssey.
In the new details about Chrono Odyssey, released in a YouTube video, the focus is mainly on the time mechanics. You should be able to manipulate time and:
- stop opponents to gain an advantage
- rewind time like in Prince of Persia or like mages in World of Warcraft
- use your skills in dungeons and against world bosses
In terms of style, Chrono Odyssey resembles dark fantasy worlds like Diablo, Lords of the Fallen, or Dark Souls, with gameplay seeming to be oriented towards the latter.

Little information, but release is expected in 2025
Karsten and Julius discuss whether Chrono Odyssey will actually perform well with such graphics, considering it is set to be released for PC, PS5, and Xbox. Sony is reportedly advocating for the performance to be solid on their console.
The plan is according to financial reports from Kakao Games that the MMORPG is set to be released in 2025. However, it remains to be seen if that will actually happen, as information and gameplay are still sparse, with many details under NDA.
