Today is the last working day of Jürgen Horn here at MeinMMO. Time for an explanation and why this is not a bad thing.
Hello, dear MeinMMO readers: I, Jürgen, have something to say regarding my own situation. Because from today, August 26, 2019, I will take a longer break from the daily work routine for seven months.
However, the reason is not that I am no longer interested in working at MeinMMO or that I was even fired without notice due to persistent use of Bavarian terms like “freilich” or “Viech”.
This is why I am leaving for now: Rather, the reason for my future absence is that I became a father five months ago. Since we moved almost simultaneously and my wife is also reorienting her career, it was unclear for a long time if and how I should take my parental leave.
Now that the situation is largely clear and at the same time, working from home with a baby is tricky, we decided to go for the full program: I will take a full seven months of parental leave and only on March 27, 2020, when my son turns one year old and (hopefully) can reliably go into local daycare, will I return to work here at MeinMMO.
Will we not see anything from Jürgen anymore?
I will mainly use my parental leave to be fully there for my son and family. But once the initial stress has settled and certain routines are established, I can well imagine playing one or another game again and writing guest contributions here.
Furthermore, I will definitely stay away from WoW: Classic, so that your new favorite game doesn’t die again right away.
Additionally, it is certainly conceivable that you will see me more often in streams, both on our streaming channel MAX and maybe even private ones. I will also certainly be found more often in our Discord.
I will definitely remain loyal to MeinMMO and Webedia and will return here next year. We will see each other at the latest then!
Until then, I wanted to thank you for the great time here at MeinMMO, both to my dear colleagues (you are all really awesome!), and to you readers, who read my texts more or less cheerfully and commented on them.
It was really great! We will see each other in 2020, fresh as ever. I will come back, I promise!
