Who needs No Man’s Sky when the MMO shooter Orion wants to do everything better?

Currently, there is a science-fiction MMO in development called Orion (PC), referred to by the team as “Every Man’s Sky.”

“Everyone wants the ultimate space game. If you are disappointed with other space games or feel deceived, we are here to make it right!” With these grand words, the team at Tek Industries is promoting the science-fiction sandbox shooter MMO Orion on the Kickstarter website. The developers aim to create one of the “best games of all time.” They also promise players that Orion will definitely be released. The Kickstarter campaign is only meant to determine how quickly Tek Industries can publish it.

Sandbox shooter, space action PvP, racing game, survival, and more!

But what is Orion actually about? Imagine No Man’s Sky but add many players you can interact with. You live in a sandbox galaxy and can explore many planets and moons there. You encounter dinosaurs, robots, and other creatures, and can mine resources for crafting. Since PvP also plays an important role, you will also encounter hostile players, which can lead to intense shootouts. Together with friends, you build large cities, stations on moons, space command centers, or inhabit caves on the planets.

Although Orion is a sandbox, and you are essentially free to do what you want, there are occasionally tasks to complete. These will earn you credits for the optional in-game store (which is supposed to contain only cosmetic items) or boxes with surprise items. The developers place special emphasis on the battles, as during these you can literally tear your enemies apart. Intense splatter effects and blood are already planned. NPCs, merchants, pets, companions, and even the option to play cooperatively on a local network are part of the game. Of course, spaceships and space battles also play a significant role!

There are also space races, duels in arenas, and survival is another important game element. It seems that Tek Industries wants to create the ultimate all-in-one game! All that’s left is for Orion to manage to eliminate diseases and wars in the world…

Kickstarter or Early Access?

Are you interested in co-funding the game that the developers claim will be the best space game? Then you can either participate in the Kickstarter campaign or buy the game via Steam as an early access version and play immediately. However, it should be noted that this is still a very early and unfinished version. Through the Kickstarter campaign, at least $20,000 are to be raised by December 27.
