For the first time, fans of Monster Hunter Wilds can test the new game not only at conventions but also in their own homes. The title is launching its first open beta and invites monster hunters on PS5, Xbox, and Steam to participate in the testing.
When does the beta take place? The open beta will take place simultaneously on all three platforms. Players can participate in the beta on PS5, Xbox, and Steam from November 1, 2024, at 05:00 until November 4 at 04:00.
There is a special feature: Players on PS5 who have an active PS Plus membership can even participate a few days earlier. They can test Monster Hunter Wilds starting from October 29 at 05:00. The early access runs until October 31 at 05:00.

Open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds brings new areas, monsters, and rewards
What are the contents? Players can look forward to several contents that they can try out in the open beta. These include the following three main points:
- Character creation
- Test version of the story
- Doshaguma hunt
The created character and the Palico can be transferred to the full version of the game. The story is located right at the beginning of the game and includes the hunt for Chatacabra. There is also a tutorial for newcomers that teaches you the basics.
In the Doshaguma hunt, the titular monster is targeted as an alpha version. It leads the herd and can be approached in multiplayer mode. Alternatively, up to three NPCs can replace the human hunters if not enough online players are available.
Will the game progress carry over? Unfortunately, game progress will not be transferred to the full version. Only the created character and the Palico will be carried over to Monster Hunter Wilds.
Is there a reward for testing? If you participate in the open beta, you can receive a pendant and an item pack. This will allow you to decorate your weapons and your Saikrii in the full version of the game when you download them starting from February 28, 2025.
Both Chatacabra and Doshaguma are two monsters that have long been confirmed for the game. You can find all other monsters found in Monster Hunter Wilds in the overview from MeinMMO: Monster Hunter Wilds: All monsters currently known in the list
