The newest perk Winded/Serpentine from Call of Duty: Warzone is considered unfair and too strong. However, there is a strong counter that you can find on the old weapons of CoD MW 2019.
With Mid-Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone came a new perk into play: Winded / Serpentine. It reduces incoming damage when you run.
The damage reduction while sprinting is 20%. Too strong, many players of the free Battle Royale think. This makes the game harder, and players with good movement have an advantage.
However, there is an effective counter in the game: If the perk is really annoying you, then pick an old weapon from CoD MW and a specific weapon perk: Fragile – Impede.

How does the weapon extra help? With “Fragile – Impede” you drive your “Winded” enemies insane. The skill impairs your opponents’ sprinting ability and is an extra attachment on weapons from CoD MW 2019.
Every hit on the enemy slows them down. The Winded perk is thus deactivated. If you hit the legs of the opponent, the tactical sprint is also unavailable for a short time.
Practiced Winded opponents expect their sprint and the reduced damage. If the perk suddenly becomes unavailable and there is also a slow down, it leads to uncertainties and a strong advantage for you in the weapon fight.
In return, however, you have to forgo a Vanguard weapon.
Which weapons from CoD MW are usable? The weapons from the newest CoD have, after some initial difficulties, taken over the meta in Warzone. However, the differences are not in the “OP range”. Weapons from CoD MW 2019 are also valid and strong.
It is important that you have enough bullets in the magazine and choose a weapon that has little recoil. Here are a few stable MW weapons in the current meta:
- Bruen Mk9 – LMG
- M13 – Assault Rifle
- M4A1 – Assault Rifle
- Grau 5.56 – Assault Rifle

Why is “Winded” considered OP? The damage reduction is too strong for some players. Warzone combines extremely stable weapons with fast movement, and Winded ensures that movement becomes even stronger.
For Mid-Season 4, which starts on Wednesday, July 27, a nerf of the new perk is at the top of the wishlist for some players.
There was a discussion on Reddit that the increased health points together with the perk make the battle royale significantly harder (via reddit.com). Here Winded is referred to as “the dumbest perk in CoD history”.
