There is no big announcement at Blizzard that isn’t ruined by a leak. Now it has also happened with Overwatch and Brigitte – particularly embarrassing.
The developers at Blizzard always put in a lot of effort to hint at new Overwatch content a few days or weeks before the official announcement with small teasers. However, Blizzard seems to be plagued by bad luck, as almost every announcement so far has been spoiled by a leak in advance.
This is also the case this time with Brigitte.
Japanese Overwatch Twitter leaks Brigitte
This time it is particularly embarrassing, as the leak comes even from an official source, namely from the Japanese Twitter account for Overwatch. Blizzard wanted to show the teaser with the blueprint for a weapon, which was also shared by the other Overwatch channels.
But instead of linking the image, the Twitter channel published a text line that was probably the file path for the corresponding file on the user’s PC, along with the instruction of when the tweet should be published.
There, the post is referred to as “Brigitte Tease 3” and probably confirmed what everyone already suspected: Brigitte will be the 27th Overwatch hero!
The post has since been deleted, but because the internet never forgets, it’s too late to take back the damage done.
When exactly Brigitte will be playable is still uncertain. Many fans suspect that she could appear on the PTR this coming Thursday, March 1, 2018, along with an interesting origin story.
As soon as there is new information on Brigitte or a clear confirmation, we will report on it.
