Actually, the new monster Voltriant is not supposed to arrive in Pokémon GO until early August. However, a trainer reports an early catch – but may have to forgo another monster for it.
What kind of Pokémon is this? Voltriant belongs to the Ultra Beasts. These are strange, parasitic monsters from another dimension, comparable in strength to legendary Pokémon. They are characterized not only by strong stats but also by rather unusual designs.

Voltriant, a creepy tree monster of the Electric type, is expected to show up as an exclusive bonus at the GO Fest Sapporo – between August 5 and 7. However: The first Voltriant in Pokémon GO has apparently already been caught.
No Shaymin, but Voltriant – Trainer reports strange error
This is the find: As user “SnooPredictions” describes on reddit, there appears to have been an error during the GO Fest in Seattle. Instead of receiving the Sky Forme of Shaymin, which one was supposed to get there, he received Voltriant (eng.: Xurkitree).
He shows among other things the catch screen including CP (1669), the special Ultra Ball and the Pokédex registration. It looks quite like there was indeed an error – there is, however, no official information from Niantic on this yet.
This is what other trainers say: Overall, the error is considered unusual and quirky.
However, some also note that it might even be unfortunate to get Voltriant instead of Sky Forme Shaymin. They assume that Voltriant will anyway come into Raids in the long run – regarding Sky Forme Shaymin they are not so sure.
As soon as there is more information on how the error will be handled, we will keep you updated. For now, it seems the trainer is the first to be able to call a Voltriant their own.
Soon, even more new Pokémon will enter the game. The “Hisui discoveries” event brings several monsters from the eponymous region. And thanks to the new Ultra Bonus, some bonuses will even be added.
