To the surprise of the community, a racing car in GTA Online is suddenly bulletproof, even though it shouldn’t have received such an upgrade. Apparently, a bug is responsible for this change, but it has been in the game for 2 weeks now.
Why is the car bulletproof? No one knows exactly why the car is now immune to gunfire. Since the major “The Criminal Enterprises” update on July 26, quite a few changes have occurred in the game. There are many quality of life changes, new weapons, and of course new cars. An arbitrary change has made the Stirling GT bulletproof. It is believed to be a bug that has been present since the DLC was released.
We will show you how exactly this bug appears and where you can buy the car.
Benefactor Stirling GT now bulletproof
What kind of car is this? The Benefactor Stirling GT has been available in GTA Online since 2015. The racing car is quite fast and often found in the garages of collectors. With the Criminal Enterprises update in July, the Stirling GT received a few additional options for visual customization. In the process, the car was probably accidentally made bulletproof.
Players quickly reported this accidental change. We checked it in the game on August 11 and can confirm that this state is still active even after today’s patch.
How can one verify this? If you want to check whether the bug is active with your account, you can buy the Stirling at Legendary Motorsports. The car costs 975,000 GTA dollars and can be found in the 2-door category.
Initially, it was thought that you needed to install a roll cage for the bug to activate. However, the car is already bulletproof in its delivery state. Drive out of your garage, shoot at it and find out.
This makes the car great for PvE missions where you have to shoot many enemies. A big advantage is the high speed of the Stirling GT.
However, a clear disadvantage arises in vehicle warehouse missions. There, it may happen that you need to procure the Stirling GT and shoot the driver out of the vehicle during the mission. Since this is currently not possible, you only increase the damage you have to pay upon delivery of the racing car. To avoid this, you should wedge the Stirling GT in a suitable position and pull the NPC out of the car.
Will this stay forever? Hard to say. There have been similar bugs in GTA Online in the past. For instance, the Karin Kuruma was suddenly bulletproof in its unarmored version. It seems to be a similar issue this time. After a few days, this bug was fixed for the Kuruma. It is to be expected that a solution for the Stirling GT is also being worked on.
