In Destiny 2 you can now enter a previously unreachable location and master an old challenge to rise high.
This is the place: In Destiny 2, you can now enter the ruins of the Iron Temple at the foot of the Felwinter Peak. Here, you can also explore the zipline. This area is known from the predecessor Destiny 1 and served as a backdrop for the expansion “Rise of Iron“. It was a bustling social space.
Back then there was a special challenge: Every Guardian who valued their reputation had to laboriously climb to the top of the snowy mountain. Now you can also become a summit climber in Destiny 2.
Climb Felwinter Peak in Destiny 2
Here’s how to get to the mountain: In the quest “The Lie“, you must scan signatures in Vostok for Rasputin. This location serves otherwise as a PvP map and is located at Felwinter Peak.
But instead of following the map as required and doing detective work for the Warmind, turn around at the start and jump over the suspension bridge. Don’t worry about the pop-up warning trying to make you turn back. On the other side of the bridge, this disappears and you can look around freely.
And lo and behold, you find yourself at the entrance of the Iron Temple, which some may know from Destiny 1.
Crack the Felwinter Challenge: Since you are here, you should definitely try to climb the Felwinter Peak to the top. Back then, the task was not easy, as there was no double jump or other abilities available in the social space.
This time you are allowed to use all skills and you need them as well. Because without precise jumps, the occasional use of movement exotics, and sword jumps, you’ll never reach the summit.

Why couldn’t this be done before? Although Felwinter Peak and the area were already in the game before the quest “The Lie”, the area was clearly marked as a PvP map. If you wander too far out of the arena there, you will inevitably die.
You can also accept the said quest with a second character from Ana on Mars and quickly reach the Vostok step – if you have already completed the task on your main. This way you can also enjoy climbing to the roof of the Destiny world.
