A special sequence in World of Warcraft is available only if you have been loyal to Sylvanas. She will then reveal more details about her grand plan.
Today, Patch 8.2.5 went live in World of Warcraft, bringing the long-awaited end of the War Campaign. There was even a really big CGI cinematic where two of the most important characters duel to the death. But even after the end of this video, there is still a bit more to see – at least if you have remained loyal to Sylvanas. We will tell you what happens next.
How do you achieve the “Loyalist” ending? To unlock the additional cutscene, you must first be a Horde character. Then you must have remained loyal to Sylvanas throughout the entire War Campaign. This means that whenever you had the opportunity, you had to inform Sylvanas or Nathanos about the traitors’ plans or stand against Saurfang. Only then will there be another quest after completing the War Campaign.
What happens in the quest? One of Sylvanas’ dark rangers hands the players a special hearthstone. This hearthstone teleports the player to the Windrunner Spire in the Shadowlands. This is Sylvanas’ old home before she was destroyed by the Scourge. When you speak with Sylvanas, a small cutscene starts, in which she ascends the tower with the player. The banshees around do not show hostility.
This is the little monologue that Sylvanas delivers (translated from English):
Ah, Champion, I was not sure if you had made it out of Orgrimmar. If the traitors knew of your services to me, they would have put you in chains… or worse.
Saurfang’s rash challenge has indeed ended the war prematurely, but that is no longer important. Countless souls have been fed to the ravenous darkness. Although I do not care for the living, I have lamented for the Forsaken. Due to the great injustice that has made them what they are. I understand the cruelty of fate better than anyone else.
Yet despite all I have taught them, they stubbornly cling to life. To life. They will learn the truth, along with all others.
My agreement with Azshara will bear fruit. The armies of Azeroth will fight their master, and he will fill the streets with their corpses. In the end, he too will serve death.
Enough concerns. There are preparations that need to be made. When we meet next time, you will understand.
What does this mean? The cutscene makes it clear that Sylvanas has orchestrated a pact with Azshara. The whole action in Nazjatar was not just a trap for the Alliance but part of the grand plan that she and Azshara are pursuing. Now one can speculate a lot about what this means for Azshara and Sylvanas.
Probably it seems that Azshara has also betrayed her master N’Zoth because she knew he would depose her as soon as he is freed from his chains. Since Azshara likes to play the role of the sole ruler, a pact with Sylvanas would be a good solution to deal with the problem of N’Zoth.
Is the Shadowlands leak true? Many players believe that the developments of the story now fit perfectly with the leak of the “Shadowlands” expansion. This would indeed match Sylvanas’ dialogue, where she speaks of souls being “fed.” This is exactly the plot of the Shadowlands leak.
What do you think of this scene that is only available to loyal Sylvanas followers? A cool thing? Or did you expect more?
