In Destiny 2 , a new world record has been set. A fireteam of Guardians completed a raid in a time that others need for a public event.
This is about the raid: Among all the raids that currently exist in Destiny 2, “The Corrupted” is one of the shorter ones. While players once struggled with the raid “Last Wish” for 19 hours, the GdV raid was already completed in under two hours during the World-First race.
The Corrupted went live on December 7, 2018.
Who completed the GdV raid so quickly? That this raid can indeed be mastered in much shorter time is now impressively demonstrated by the team around Swedish Guardian Granger. They rushed through the raid and completed it in just under 5 minutes and 23 seconds.
Granger shows you what the speedrun looks like in the video:
The fastest raid run in Destiny 2 ever
This is the new world record: Granger claims that this is the fastest raid completion in Destiny ever. And when you look at the Speedrun.com page, he’s right:
- Granger, Munch, Leighmx, LiiPy, BjarturFO, and KaZzA are listed in first place for the “The Corrupted” raid with a time of 5m22s. The record was set one day ago. Second place is over 20 seconds slower, but still incredibly fast:

- In the “Crown of Sorrow” raid, Granger also holds the record with 10 minutes 15 seconds.
- The “Last Wish” raid has been completed in 20 minutes 9 seconds so far.
- The raids on the Leviathan took the fastest speedrunners between 12m50s and 16m19s.
Thus, this run in the “The Corrupted” raid is the fastest speedrun ever recorded in a Destiny 2 raid.

Is this all above board? If you’re wondering whether you can replicate this with your fireteam tonight, the answer is probably “No”. Because the Guardians around Granger play the raid in a way not intended by Bungie and do not hesitate to use every advantage the game offers them.
The raid run is therefore listed in the “Any%” category – which means players are allowed to use all possible bugs and glitches to achieve the shortest speedrun possible.
This is what fascinates many about speedrunning: rushing through an activity in the shortest time possible – no matter how. And how passionately the Guardians pursue this self-imposed mission can be heard at the end of the video. When they break the world record, there’s no stopping them.
In the comments under the video, many Guardians leave their congratulations in awe. One Guardian jokes that this raid was faster than a heroic public event.
