An achievement in World of Warcraft is so ruthless that most players will never achieve it. Because the effort is enormous.
There are achievements in World of Warcraft that are literally thrown at you. Leveling a character to level 10 or 20 is not a big achievement, and completing a certain questline in an area does not pose significant difficulty either. But then there are achievements that are so exhausting, annoying, and difficult to attain that only a small fraction of players possess them – like the achievement “‘Employee’ of the Month”.
What kind of achievement is that? The achievement “‘Employee’ of the Month” is always available at the beginning of a new month, when you have proven in the previous month that you are the “most valuable” employee. Something that sounds so simple on paper – but is much more ruthless than one might think. Because you are competing against hundreds of thousands of other players.
Hundreds of hours of farming – for a small chance
How do you obtain the achievement? The Reddit user Walocial has documented this and also shown how crazy it actually is. Because if you want the achievement, you have to be the one who has submitted the most “C.H.E.T.T.” lists on a character within a month – in the entire region (such as Europe or America). You get these lists in Lorenhall and complete them by fulfilling various tasks. Only one character can get this achievement each month per region – last month, it was Walocial.
It’s no wonder that currently only 0.0017% of accounts have this achievement (DataforAzeroth).
How many lists were needed? To ensure his victory, Walocial submitted a whopping 607 C.H.E.T.T. lists within a month, that’s over 20 per day.
The catch is that you can really only submit one list per week and character. If you want more C.H.E.T.T. lists, you must collect 40 C.H.E.T.T. cards for each additional list, which drop from enemies in Lorenhall or the Depth there after submitting the first list. Typically, during one run through the Depths, around 20 to 30 of these cards drop, meaning you need to run through many hundreds of Depths to get the necessary amount.
Another catch with the achievement is: You never know how many lists other characters have submitted. You might think you are secure with 200 or 300 lists while another player on an unknown realm has submitted many more.
This also directly leads to the next problem. Because if you do not get the achievement in a month, the progress is logically reset to zero – so you have to repeat all the farming in the following month.
No matter how you turn it, the “‘Employee’ of the Month” achievement is likely one of the toughest and most ruthless grinds in World of Warcraft – and that without a guarantee that you will actually achieve the accomplishment in the end.
