MocDonald and Unigaro
- First appearance: Episode 340
- Estimated location: Thriller Bark
Who is this? The two characters are zombies from Gecko Moria’s army. MocDonald is a tree, while Unigaro is a unicorn. The two were spotted by Luffy while drinking together.
The two gave Luffy no reason to ask him to join the crew. Nevertheless, the captain of the Straw Hat Crew probably thought that two zombies would fit well in his crew.
Would they benefit the Straw Hat Crew? Their appearances were very short, which is why we haven’t seen much of their abilities. Gecko Moria can end their lives quite quickly with his ability, which is why they probably wouldn’t survive long in the Straw Hat Crew. Perhaps MocDonald could at least serve as firewood.
Kin’emon’s Legs
- First appearance: Episode 580
- Estimated location: Wano Country
Who is this? You read that right. Luffy did not ask Kin’emon himself but only his legs if they wanted to become part of the crew. While searching for his young master, he encountered Trafalgar Law, who effortlessly sliced him into two pieces with his ability. Both the torso and the legs could continue to live independently.
Luffy initially encountered Kin’emon’s legs and was so impressed by them that he wanted them in his crew. Although the torso was severed from the legs, the legs could still speak.
Would they benefit the Straw Hat Crew? Kin’emon’s legs would take up less space than any other crew member. Therefore, the talking legs would have been a good addition that wouldn’t have taken up much space. While Kin’emon would have no helping hands, he could still process grapes into juice or hold doors open.
Hyoutauros
- First appearance: Episode 582
- Estimated location: Punk Hazard
Who is this? Hyoutauros has a human upper body and a jaguar lower body. He patrols the island of Punk Hazard, maintaining law and order there. During one of his patrols, he encountered Luffy and mistook him for a centaur as well.
The reason: Kin’emon’s legs, which Luffy had earlier tried to persuade to join the Straw Hat Crew, were stuck to the straw hat pirate. The two initially understood each other well, despite being enemies. Therefore, Luffy probably decided to invite him into his crew.
Would he benefit the Straw Hat Crew? Of all the characters presented here, Hyoutauros is probably the most suitable member for the Straw Hat Crew. He would be a capable fighter and could be used as a mount due to his stature.
Ucy
- First appearance: Episode 639
- Estimated location: Dressrosa
Who is this? Ucy is a bull who regularly participated as a fighter in the tournaments at the Corrida Colosseum. He and Luffy became friends in the latest tournament, where the first-place winner could win the Fire Fruit. Later, Ucy even joined a group of fighters opposing Doflamingo’s companion Pica.
The events in the Corrida Colosseum bonded Ucy and Luffy so much that he asked the bull if he wanted to join his crew. Unfortunately, Ucy did not make it into the Straw Hat Crew.
Would he benefit the Straw Hat Crew? In Dressrosa, he proved that he was useful in fights. This would have made him a valuable member. The language barrier would also be no problem: Chopper could have played the role of translator.
