The Manga of One Piece is said by Eiichiro Oda to be in its final stages. For Luffy and his crew, it’s heading from Egghead Island to the next island. However, the current chapter hints at a major problem that could be related to the grand finale of the manga.
What is the major problem? In a discussion with Akira Toriyama, the manga artist of Dragon Ball, Eiichiro Oda admitted to a significant weakness. He stated that he is not good at drawing machines and robots. Since he doesn’t know much about them, he can’t draw them perfectly.
I have no idea about machines at all, so I can’t draw them. Well, the shape [of the entire mecha] doesn’t have to be practical in real life.

Warning, big spoiler: From here on, there will be information about the current status of the manga chapter, specifically the fight on Egghead Island.
Oda has already had to prove his skills in drawing robots:
- Franky is a cyborg and has just upgraded parts of his body after the time skip, making him look more like a robot.
- The satellites of Vegapunk often look more like robots than humans.
- On Egghead Island lies an ancient robot that has just come to life.
The current chapter suggests that there could be more robots in the future that Oda will have to draw. And this could become a problem for the manga artist in the finale of One Piece.

A Finale with One Piece and Robots
Why could this become a problem? Thanks to Professor Clover, we know that the ancient kingdom existed. It is one of the greatest mysteries in One Piece. The World Government has completely erased the history of the kingdom and tries to guard the secret.
The kingdom existed around 800 years ago. It is believed to be connected to the true history and the Void Century. Nobody knows what happened in that century that followed the end of the ancient kingdom. Only the Poneglyphs contain the secret surrounding the true history of the ancient kingdom and its demise.
Dr. Vegapunk had the theory that the kingdom was technologically advanced. The civilization could have created futuristic giant robots, the remains of which we see in the form of a final robot in the current manga chapter.
Accordingly, it could be that in the grand finale, the mystery surrounding all these mysteries will finally be resolved. If the ancient kingdom really worked so much with robots, it could mean that Oda will have to draw numerous robots in flashbacks.
This could become a major challenge for the manga artist since he can’t draw them.
Already now, Oda has to live with the fact that he has brought the robot on Egghead Island to life. He apologized to Joyboy and set off. It remains exciting what the apology was for and how the gigantic robot will now act.
At the moment, Luffy must face a gigantic threat: One Piece: Luffy is dealing with new opponents – The artist dedicates them the first full manga page in 9 years.
