In episode 1100 of the One Piece anime, two strong Devil Fruit users face off against each other. The episode is received so well by the viewers that it is rated just as highly as the one that is currently ranked number 1 among the best episodes.

What is the episode about? Luffy transforms for the second time in the anime into his Gear-5 form. He turns completely white from the back of his head and gains the ability to transform his surroundings into rubber.
In the process, he faces an equal opponent: Rob Lucci also transforms into his awakened Devil Fruit form and takes on Luffy. The animations are so good, that I have watched their transformation more than five times.
And other users seem to share this view: The battle between the two ensures that the episode is rated even better on IMDb than many other episodes. Thus, episode 1100 is currently ranked 2nd.

Community rates the One Piece episode with 9.8 points
Why is the episode so good? With 9,854 votes cast, episode 1100 receives a rating of 9.8 stars. Only episode 484, where Luffy has to cope with the tragic death of a beloved character, is rated just as high. However, since 23,519 votes were cast for that episode, it holds the top spot.
In the reviews, fans on IMDb write why they believe the episode is such a hit:
- Luffy’s transformation into his Gear-5 form looks even better than in the fight against Kaido.
- The choreography is perfect, especially the music should be highlighted.
- Some users were captivated by Dr. Vegapunk’s passion for the story.
- The animations and effects look top-notch. Some were surprised that they were watching One Piece at that moment.
However, there are also dissenting voices: Some fans do not like the cartoonish style of Luffy’s Gear 5. It reminds them too much of Tom & Jerry, which would not do justice to one of the Four Emperors.
The art style thus divides the One Piece community. Some love the art style, while others cannot relate to it at all.
