In the new manga chapter of One Piece, a person appears who is only shown as a silhouette. A fan believes that there is a connection to one of the four emperors of the sea. There are other readers who even take the theory further.

Which person is it about? Towards the end of the chapter, Dr. Vegapunk calls for the great race for the One Piece. He claims that whoever finds the treasure first will determine the fate of the world.
Several characters are spotlighted, who have a chance at the One Piece. Among them are also the four emperors of the sea:
- Monkey D. Luffy
- Shanks
- Blackbeard
- Buggy, the Clown
But the representatives of the World Government, the Marines, the Revolutionary Army, and the SWORD unit are also visible. Two of the people can only be seen as vague figures. On one hand, we see Imu, who forms the highest authority of the World Government. So far we only know, that he can command one of the Ancient Weapons.
On the other hand, a completely new person is depicted, of whom we only see the chin and nose. Additionally, he seems to be holding a rapier, the handle of which seems suspiciously familiar. A fan therefore theorizes that this might be a character related to Luffy’s mentor.
The Identity of the Mysterious Person Remains Unresolved
Who could the mysterious person be? The sword looks remarkably similar to Shanks’ rapier. Figarland Garling, who is supposed to be related to Shanks, also carries such a rapier.
Some fans even go a step further and believe that this could be Shanks’ twin brother. In chapter 1083, a silhouette among the Knights of God is already seen of a person who looks strikingly similar to Shanks. You can see the theory starting at 6:33:
It is possible that Shanks has another relative who is a Knight of God. Whether this is a twin brother is unclear. It could just as well be a cousin, older brother, or something similar.
How certain is this? The YouTuber Artur – The Library of Ohara has been supplying fans with fan theories and information about One Piece for a while now. He has become so well-known that he has supported the production team for the live-action series of One Piece with Easter eggs and lore (via X). So if anyone knows the world of One Piece, it is him.
