Ruffy must face numerous villains in One Piece. Some of them have realized over time that perhaps what they are fighting for isn’t that good after all. As a result, they have sided with Ruffy or helped him realize his dream. MeinMMO lists five of these villains.
Which villains have been considered? This list includes all characters who were initially seen as enemies of the Straw Hat Crew. However, over time, they have shown good intentions, which is why they made it onto this list. Therefore, some villains like Buggy the Clown and Kaido do not appear in this article.
Okta
What was he like as a villain? Okta is an octopus fishman. He first encounters the Straw Hat Crew when he is still part of Arlong’s gang. He was under the command of the bloodthirsty fishman, who oppressed numerous residents.
When Ruffy and his crew rescued Nami’s home from the clutches of Arlong’s gang, Okta fought Zorro in a sword fight. With his numerous arms, he thought he had the advantage. However, he had to concede defeat to Zorro’s sword skills.
Why could he now be part of the crew? Later in the series, there is a reunion between Okta and the Straw Hat Crew. The fishman regretted his crimes and apologized to the Straw Hat Crew. Ruffy’s crew helped not only him but also his girlfriend Kamy.
Okta would have been a great addition to the Straw Hat Crew. With his arms, he could have been versatile on the ship and could have primarily supported the crew in the water.
Bon Curry
What was he like as a villain? Bon Curry was part of the Baroque Works in the Alabasta Arc. His name there was Mr. 2, and he had the ability to imitate other people’s faces once he touched them. Thanks to this ability, we have one of the most beautiful scenes from One Piece: Ruffy and Co. drew crosses on their arms to recognize each other.
Thanks to his ballet skills, he had toned legs that he used in battle. This led to a duel with Sanji, who also only uses his legs in combat because, as a cook, he cannot injure his hands.
Why could he now be part of the crew? Ruffy and Bon Curry met again during the breakout from Impel Down, the high-security prison. Along with some other villains, they fought their way through the prison floor by floor.
To prove his gratitude, Bon Curry sacrificed himself to allow Ruffy a way out. He transformed into Magellan and ordered that the Gate of Justice be opened for Ruffy to escape. But suddenly the real Magellan appeared, and Bon Curry bravely stayed behind. He would have been a humorous addition to the team.
