In the current manga chapter of One Piece, a battle is raging between Luffy and the World Government. In order to stand against his strong opponents, Luffy shows what Gear 5 can do, and it seems there are no limits.

Who is Luffy currently fighting?
- In the manga, the Straw Hat crew is currently on Egghead Island with Dr. Vegapunk.
- Due to Dr. Vegapunk, CP0 with Rob Lucci and the Marines with Kizaru are currently also on the island.
- The scientist wants to reveal a great secret, which is why high-ranking officials of the World Government are showing up, and Luffy is now fighting against them.
Luffy’s opponents are more dangerous than anything seen before. That’s why he is finally showing what Gear 5 can do, and it seems that the Devil Fruit is continuously evolving.

Things are heating up on Egghead Island. The Five Elders have appeared and are trying to stop Luffy, Vegapunk, and company with their Devil Fruits, which turn them into mythological monsters. A Buster Call has also been activated, and chaos reigns. At least the giants have appeared to help Luffy.
Meanwhile, Luffy is fighting against the Elders, using his fruit in interesting ways. In one panel, Luffy takes a tree and transforms it, along with its color and shape, into a huge baseball bat.
We also see the typical Gear 5 expressions with bulging eyes. His abilities are reminiscent of cartoon fights, such as in Tom and Jerry. What is interesting here is exactly what his ability can do.
There has been talk in the series about awakened Devil Fruits
. These are said to be able to manipulate their surroundings with their ability. But with Luffy, it goes further; he can do more than just turn the surroundings into rubber. The Rubber Man can manipulate reality, transform objects, and essentially do anything he can imagine.
It is now known that Luffy does not have the Rubber Fruit, but the Nika Fruit. The sun god Nika is a symbol of freedom in the One Piece world. Therefore, one can assume that Luffy’s abilities are even limitless and that he has the freedom to do whatever he wants.
And this is just the beginning. Luffy has not had this form for long, so one can be curious about what else Luffy can manipulate with his ability. He will need this power, as according to his own statement, the Five Elders are immortal.
