3. Lola
Who is she? Lola is a living zombie woman who appears in the Thriller Bark Arc. She is the captain of the so-called Rolling Pirates, a pirate crew that has had their shadows stolen by Gecko Moria. In her zombie form, she is stuck inside the body of a giant wild boar.
She is especially known for her unwavering optimism and for constantly proposing marriage. Despite her somewhat eccentric nature, she is brave, loyal, and later helps the Straw Hat crew in their battle against Moria. She develops a close friendship with Nami, which later proves to be significant.
What makes her iconic? It later turns out that Lola is the daughter of Big Mom. The Vivre Card she gave to Nami as a farewell was a piece of Big Mom’s soul, which is why it works so well on Whole Cake Island.
In the Whole Cake Island Arc, Nami eventually finds out that Big Mom wanted to marry her off to a noble to seal an alliance with the Giant tribe. But Lola ran away back then because she wanted to decide for herself whom to marry.
